Franz Ettl was a fan from Bavaria in Germany active in the 1960s. He organised Niederrheincon 5 in March 1964. BSFA Bulletin #19 (September 1968), describing him as the 'bouncingly active Bavarian', reported his induction to the Knights of St. Fantony at Perkeo-con in Heidelberg.
His death was reported in Ansible #36 in December 1983 where he was described as 'long-time German fan and inventor of the fabulous drink Vurguz'.
In Amble #22 (Summer 1965) Archie Mercer suggested he was a dentist.
