Mike Ward is a Bay Area fan who is married to fellow fan Karen Schaffer. He went to MIT where he was a member of MITSFS, BoSFS, NESFA (of which he was a founding member) and the Boston in '67 bid committee. He promoted Damon Knight's Project Boskone, and worked on the MITSFS Index. He was one of the founders of PenSFA and of the Technology Amateur Press Association.

Under Random Noise Publications, his publishing house name, he produced the fanzine Infinite Fanac.
