Janice Marie “Jan” Bogstad is a Wisconsin fan and academic. She was one of the founders of WisCon and chaired Wiscons 1-4. She was a member of apasition.

She married fellow fan Philip Kaveny on August 7, 2008. Jan holds a Ph.D. and is a professor emeritus of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, where she organized the 1996 SFRA Conference. Her teaching interests include SF, fantasy, and women's studies.
