Will Straw, a Canadian fan, published the fanzine Willard R. Biscuit Newsletter with Norm Clarke and Boyd Raeburn. He also published Rabble-Rouser and Pooka. He was a member of TAPS, SAPS, and OMPA and was OE of Apasition. He later became James McGill Professor of Urban Media Studies at McGill University and retired as Emeritus Professor of that institution. In 2023, in the Sage journal DIY, Alternative Cultures and Societies, he published the article "Bundles and mailings: Science fiction fandom and the amateur press association", based on the fanzine collection at University California-Riverside and his personal collection. In this freely available article, he discussed concerns of personal privacy that arise when apa mailings become publicly accessible as part of university library collections. He also quoted from the 1972 article by Susan Wood (then Glicksohn) in which Joyce Katz and Arnie Katz stated that Will Straw was a hoax, given that no fan had ever met him in person.
