Fred William Fischer, a Southern fan, was a member of the Dixie Fantasy Federation in the early 1940s.
According to a June 1941 biographical interview in The Southern Star 2, p. 29, he was born in Knoxville, TN, spent his teen years in Denver reading the pulps, then returned to Tennessee for college and remained there.
