David A. English, aka de, a New York fan active in the 1950s, was a faned and fanartist. He also wrote short fiction for the prozines. He was part of Fanvariety Enterprises and an early member of the Buffalo Fantasy League and The Cult.

Harlan Ellison called him a “true ‘craftsman’ of the field” of fanzine art in Sol IX. His artwork was collected in A David English Sketchbook in 1958.
