The Fantast was a U.K. fanzine (nicknamed Fay) published first by C. S. "Sam" Youd (John Christopher) from April 1939 until March 1941 (issues 1–9) when it was taken over by John F. Burke (co-editor issues 9–10) and Douglas Webster (issues 10–14) ending in July 1942. It published early fiction and poetry by Youd, Arthur C. Clarke, Charles Eric Maine and others.
J. Michael Rosenblum reviewed #12 in Futurian War Digest #16:
The 32 page December 1941 issue of Fantast is a fight issue, or so says editor Douglas Webster. He has collected a batch of controversial material by Birchby, Burke, Hopkins etc which together with the more regular items, certainly makes up a good meaty number – art work by Turner is, as usual, specially notable.
