(January 29, 1949 – October 19, 2004)
Greg Shaw published many fanzines, including Entmoot, one of the first J. R. R. Tolkien fanzines, as well as Feemwlort and Metanoia. He was a member of FAPA, the Little Men and the N3F. He edited Tightbeam in 1966, the same year he more-or-less gafiated after a short but intense fannish career.
He went into the music magazine industry, writing for and publishing many underground music zines in the ’60s and ’70s. Notably, he and his wife, Suzy Shaw, founded Who Put the Bomp! in 1970, which became the Bomp! record label that released disks by such bands as Devo, The Weirdos and Iggy Pop. He later helped launch the 1980s garage revival scene.
He died of heart failure.
