The British Amateur Press Association (BAPA) was the first (albeit non-fantasy or fannish) Amateur Press Association in the UK. It was founded in 1890.

Ted Carnell was a member, contributing Creep, Shadow! in 1945–6.

There was an unrelated comics apa of the same name created in 1977.
