Hyacinthe Hill was the penname of Virginia Rose Anderson[1] (née Cronin) a New York poet whose work appeared in fanzines such as Spaceship and Yandro, in the 1950s and ’60s. She was a contributing editor to some issues of Destiny.

Raised in the Bronx, she married John L. Anderson in 1940. They had two sons, John Luke and Mark. She received an A.B. (cum laude) at Brooklyn College in 1961 and her M.A. from Hunter College in 1965, and worked as an English teacher starting in 1969. Her writing was also published in many mundane journals and she received a number of literary awards and honorary doctorates.
