Stewart Brownstein was a fan living in New York City, where he belonged to ESSFSCCNY, and later the Bay Area. He chaired the precursor con Smofcon 0 and was part of the Noreascon I committee. He was on the bidcom for Hawaii in 1981.

He was married to fellow fan Amy Brownstein (divorced 1997).
