Windycon 47 in 2020 was to have been held November 13-15, 2020, at the Westin Lombard in Lombard, IL, but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Guests of Honor were to include author Ben Aaronovitch, artist Ray VanTilburg, science/maker Elizabeth Koprucki, music Seanan McGuire, editor Bella Pagan, agent John Berlyne, and gaming Ken Hite and Ada Palmer was to be Toastmaster, with Chair Arin Komins.

The theme was "Urban Fantastic." The rather clumsy name is the official one, bestowed upon cancellation.

Although Pagan was originally announced as one of the guests of honor, she stepped down prior to the convention's cancellation.

The convention was first postponed due to COVID-19, causing some to suggest its name be changed to "Windycon 47 in 2020 in 2021." At the time of the postponement, ISFiC announced that Komins had chosen to step down as chair and be replaced by vice-chair Evan Reeves. ISFiC also announced that all the guests were planning on returning when the convention was held in November, 2021.

In 2020, ISFiC wound up replacing Windycon 47 in 2020 with an online event called Breezycon since it was seen as a "Windycon light."
