Ben Dylan Aaronovitch is a London-based fantasy author best known for his Rivers of London urban fantasy series featuring Peter Grant, a mixed-race police constable and apprentice wizard. He has also written for Doctor Who, becoming a published novelist with the novelization of his own Doctor Who television script, Remembrance of the Daleks in 1990.

Born in Camden, Aaronovitch is the son of economist Sam Aaronovitch, who was a senior member of the Communist Party of Great Britain, and the younger brother of actor Owen Aaronovitch and journalist David Aaronovitch. He married Marie Fofana in 1992.
