Charles Stewart Metchette, a fan from Windsor, Ontario (across the river from Detroit), was active in fandom during the 1940s and ’50s. The Michifen spelled his name Stuart (though that may be a memory lapse) and apparently called him Steve. He was a member of the Misfits.
By 1950, he had moved to California, where he updated the game Interplanetary. He was the original chairman of Westercon 4. He was a member of the Carboniferous Amateur Press Alliance.
