(May 6, 1924 - April 4, 1993)

Robert E. Gilbert was one of the more prolific fanartists of the late 1950s and 1960s. His art appeared in a variety of fanzines from Amra to Riverside Quarterly, Sandworm and Yandro. He was a graduate of the Washington School of Art and a veteran of World War II. His fanart was often signed REG.

He had stories published professionally in Galaxy, Infinity Science Fiction, Planet Stories and other magazines in the 1950s. In later years he had little contact with fandom except for Buck Coulson and Alan Dodd. He died at his home in Jonesborough, TN.
