(???? – )
Peter Hitchin was a UK fan whose activity was likely confined to attending the BSFA Convention, 1960. According to Archie Mercer's con report from the evening of Saturday (April 16) in Cactus 5:[1]
Among the incoming fans was one about seven feet tall. Actually I think he'd come in bef[o]re, but this is as good a point as any to bring him up. His name was Peter Hitchin, he'd just blown in on spec, and said he rather liked what he found. I hope he investigates further. Actually he says he's six foot six, as against Don Ford's six foo[t] three. So next time I saw Don, I greeted him "Hi-ya, Shorty".
So far there's no evidence that Hitchin did investigate further, and if it wasn't for Archie Mercer we wouldn't have even known he was there.
