Pertinence was a fanzine published by Archie Mercer in Bristol, UK. He described it in #1 as 'neither "of" nor "for" the B.S.F.A. as such' but rather 'a publication about the B.S.F.A., for various people who might be expected to take an intelligent interest in the affairs of the organisation concerned'. Unusually, Mercer included a 'provisional distribution list' for that first issue and so we know it went to 60 people. Its sixth issue was explicitly its last as 'for best effect the compilation of such a publication requires considerably more time and effort than I have to spare from other things'.
