New Tolkien Newsletter

A J. R. R. Tolkien fanzine published by Robert Giddings and Elizabeth Holland as from the Windcombe Press in Bath, UK. In 1983, it was replaced by The Read.

Gary Hunnewell says that this was "the most unusual of all newsletters. Giddings and Holland were household names in the homes of English Tolkien fans. The theories proposed here and in the editors' book, J. R. R. Tolkien: The Shores of Middle-earth, are so far from mainstream scholarly thought on Tolkien that most Tolkien fans could not take their publication seriously."
