Metrocon was a bid to hold the 1983 Eastercon in central London. The bid was chaired by Dave Langford. At the bidding session during 1982's Channelcon it lost narrowly to Albacon II in Glasgow by 222 votes to 199. Due to high costs, this was the last serious attempt to hold an Eastercon in central London and was only possible because the hotel was a bit past its use-by date...
