M. McNeil
(???? – )
M. McNeil was a fan from Houston, TX active in the 1950s. He was a member of SAPS and produced the fanzine The Trilobyte, some of which were in SAPS and others elsewhere. He was also a member of FAPA around 1952–3, contributing Ydmos. He wrote prozine reviews for Utopian and contributed a column 'Section 5,6,7' to Kaymar Trader. He was a member of Chicon II.
Dick Eney's SAPS Index includes a single sheet by McNeil seemingly called ZZZZZZZZZZZZ in the 24th mailing (June 1953). G. M. Carr comments on it in Gem Tones v4#3 (December 1953) as if it were an issue of The Trilobyte but that may just be shorthand. It's unclear when McNeil dropped out of SAPS but it was before the 29th mailing in September 1954.
He joined FAPA with two issues of Ydmos in the 62nd mailing. It's unclear how long he remained a member but he was gone by the 79th mailing in 1957.
Sapstype v3#1 (January 1958) gave his nicknames as 'Mike' or 'Mac' and a passing reference in Kaymar Trader #90 confirms his first name was indeed Mike, but he seems invariably bylined M. McNeil.
- The Trilobyte [1950s] (some in SAPS)
- Ydmos [1952] (FAPA)
