The Jupiter Awards were given by the Instructors of Science Fiction in Higher Education, a scholarly organization founded by Marshall B. Tymn, "in four fiction categories corresponding to the principal Hugos, in 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1978 only." (SF Encyclopedia; note that the dating is also Hugo-like, the works published a year earlier. There was indeed a skip in 1976.)

- wikipedia:Jupiter Award (film award) – founded in 1979 as "Germany's biggest audience award for cinema and TV" (called thus in English and capitalised JUPITER AWARD, although "Jupiter-Filmpreis" also appears), possibly confusingly (though with a fortunate timing); some SF films have won it.
