(???? – )

George Whiting was a fan and fan artist from Gloucestershire in the UK active in the 1950s. He co-founded the West Country Science Fiction Group in 1952 and edited all seven issues of its newsletter, Progress. According to Then he was at the time living in a pub, 'the fannish dream'.

He moved to Greece in early 1954 although he remained a credited 'art editor' of Pete Campbell's Andromeda (Campbell) until at least August 1955. He also wrote a column 'A Fan in Greece' for Orion. By October 1955 he had relocated again to Cyprus and contributed an article on the situation there to Orion v2#12. He seems to have dropped out of fannish contact shortly afterwards.
