Don Wilson, an LA area fan active in the 1940s through the ’60s, was mentioned in Fancy 2 under “Downward Slanting Eyes.” He attended Philcon (the 1947 Worldcon), and was the originator of the Annual (1948 Fantasy Annual). He received a Fan-Dango Award from Francis Towner Laney in 1949. He used the penname Gilbert Swenson.

He was married to fanartist Mary Wilson. The 1960 Directory of SF Fandom records the couple living in Hayward, California; the next edition lists them in Hilo, Hawaii. In 1966, Don is cited alone and living in New York.
