(September 14, 1890 – February 1, 1986

Theodora Brenton Eliot McCormick Du Bois, a New York-based pro author, wrote in a variety of genres, particularly mysteries, but also SF and fantasy, including her first novel, The Devil's Spoon (1930), in which a young devil takes over a human being in order to fight against Satan's plans for the world. (A reprint was serialized in FFM, notable for a Virgil Finlay cover that later sold at auction for a record $70.)
