Southwestercon 1969 was a convention held June 20-22, 1969 at the Ramada Inn on Allen Parkway in Houston, TX. The sponsor in theory was the Houston SF Club, but the convention was basically a comics convention in disguise. The dealers room was nearly all comic book dealers, and the attendees, for the most part, were high schoolers, who seemed to be interested in augmenting their collections. The program was primarily comics-oriented. The only real sf-related panel, about science fiction movies, was postponed two times before it "finally disappeared in a general wave of disinterest" according to one attendee.

This appears to have been the final Southwestercon as such, though DCON 1971 is counted in the series.
