South Porcupine, Ontario, Canada, was a gold-mining town about 500 miles northwest of Ottawa. Improbably enough, not one, but two fans came from there: Jessie Walker, in the 1940s, and Art Hayes, in the ’50s.

In 1973, sadly, South Porcupine gave up home rule and became a ward in the adjoining city of Timmins.
