Beginning in April 1962, after abandoning the Alpine Playground because of the dangerous neighborhood, LASFS began meeting at the Silverland Playground Gymnasium at Silverlake and Van Pelt Street north of downtown. They remained there until May 1967 when Silverland began enforcing its policy of charging fees to any organization who used it and charged dues.
