San Jose in '83 was a losing Westercon bid. They bid the Red Lion Inn in San Jose, CA.

The bid committee was chaired by Lee Forgue with members Rae Hanscom, Linda Von Braskat-Cover, Fred Gottfried, Melisa Michaels, Lynx Crowe, James Earley, Fleig Hollander, Jeff Tibbetts, and Michael Kurland, with Alva Rogers, Owen Hannifen and Jerry Jacks as advisors.
