Robert Runte is a fan who is Senior Editor with EssentialEdits.ca, a retired professor (University of Lethbridge), and former Senior Editor for Five Rivers Publishing. As an academic, editor, reviewer, and organizer, he has been actively promoting Canadian SF for over 35 years.

He was Fan GoH at Conadian, the 1994 Worldcon.

He was a member of ESFCAS and was one of the editors of ESFCAS Newsletter. He won CUFF in 1989. He was a member of Dadapa.
