A Minneapolis-area fan who has been active in area clubs and conventions. He is a member of Minnstf, 3M (which he founded) and SF Minnesota. He was a member of the Phoenix in '78 bid committee and helped launch a Gordy Dickson Memorial Scholarship Fund to send writers to Clarion.

In the 70s he ran Imagination Unlimited, an art-oriented huckster operation and Second Front (with Louie Spooner) which sold used books.
