(Which Michael Walsh did you mean?)

(January 6, 1945 – January 3, 2024)

Michael James Walsh of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, was a BCSFA member and a regular at VCON, where he served as Toastmaster in 1982, 1985, 1987, 2005 and 2007 (Canvention 27), where he also organized the Aurora Awards ceremony with Clint Budd, and stepped in quickly to rectify a mistake in one of the winners announced.

In mundania, Walsh was a reporter and film critic for the Vancouver Province until his 2010 retirement. Reporting on the first VCON in 1971 introduced Walsh to what would become a lifelong association with British Columbia fandom. He covered the second through fourth VCONs (1972–75) for The Province, afterward attending as a panelist.

Walsh was a graduate of the University of Toronto. He was married to fellow fan Susan Walsh (née Jaycox).
