Maggie Thompson (born Margaret Curtis) was a second-generation fan who became active in fandom in her teens. Her mother was Betsy Curtis, an SF author.

Maggie and her husband, Don Thompson, were coeditors of the fanzines Harbinger, Comic Art, Rainy Days, and Newfangles.

The Thompsons were married in June, 1962. They had met at a picnic at the home of SF author Basil Wells. Maggie graduated in 1964 from Oberlin College with a degree in English. She worked as a librarian until she quit to have children.
