Douglas Noel Adams was an English SF writer, humorist, and dramatist.

He is best known as the author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which originated in 1978 as a BBC radio comedy before developing into a series of five books that sold millions of copies in his lifetime. The books also generated a television series, stage plays, comics, a computer game, and a feature film in 2005.

He was Ghost of Honor at Loscon 42, Conjecture 2013, Balticon 42, and DemiCon 16.
