David Bridges, a Sheffield, UK-born fan, edited the fanzine One-Off, which won the 1980 Nova Award for best fanzine, and placed in the Checkpoint Fan Poll for 1977, 1978, and 1979.
In 1986, he moved to Texas, where he was married to fellow fan Linda Blanchard until 2015; they had two children. He has run an sf bookstore and games shop, Astral Castle, in Midland, TX, since 1995.
