Blaine Robert Dunmire was an early fan who was assistant director of the Western Pennsylvania Science Fictioneers.

A PFC in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, he was a passenger on the S.S. Paul Hamilton and died when the ship was torpedoed and sunk in the Mediterranean.
