Alan Miller was a fan from Leeds active in the 1930s.
He attended the 1937 Leeds Convention and was elected librarian of the Leeds branch of the Science Fiction Association (SFA) in July 1938 at which point the branch held 800 science-fiction, fan, and science magazines. It's not clear when he joined the SFA as his arrival wasn't mentioned in Novae Terrae as was the usual practice. He was noted as one of the people representing the Leeds branch at the inaugural meeting of the Manchester branch on 22 May 1938 (Novae Terrae #23). It's possible, especially given his presence at the 1937 convention, that he was a founder member.
In the 1945 Directory of Anglo-Fandom he is recorded as 'not in touch at the moment'. In a 1988 letter to Rob Hansen[1], Herbert Warnes said:
A. Miller was one of our stalwarts being with us from start to finish. We [Warnes and George Airey] would dearly like to meet him again, but alas no contact.
