The Small Press Science Fiction Awards are presented annually by the Small Press Writers and Artists Organization (SPWAO), and chosen by members of the organization, subject to ratification by a panel of judges.

The awards have been given in a variety of categories, including Novel, Short Work, SF Writer, Fantasy Writer, Horror Writer, Poet, Artist, Collection, Anthology, Nonfiction, Reference/Bibliography, and various magazine categories.

Past judges have included Algis Budrys, David Hartwell, and Mark V. Ziesing.

Winners have included Stuart David Schiff, Steve Fabian, Philip K. Dick, Howard Waldrop, Dan Simmons, Joe Lansdale, and Richard Matheson.

The first awards were given in 1980.
