Howard Waldrop was an American pro writer living in Austin, TX. He worked primarily in short fiction, combining alternate history, American popular culture, the South, old movies, classical mythology, and rock 'n' roll music. He was a founding member of the Turkey City Writer's Workshop, and had taught at Clarion.
