(???? – )
George Lye was a UK fan from County Durham active in the 1950s. He was a member of the North East Science Fiction Society, and of Cytricon in 1955, and Loncon, the 1957 Worldcon.
He is listed in Ron Bennett's Directory of Science Fiction Fandom for 1955 and 1956 but not thereafter. However, there is a George Lye listed on the membership list for Tynecon, the 1974 Eastercon, and the programme book thanks 'George Lye, director of Saxon's Ltd., Sunderland, for kindly providing the projectors and showing the films for us.' It's not clear if this was the same person.
