(1921 – December 1, 1983)

Eric[1] S. Needham was a UK fan from Manchester active from the 1930s. He was a member of the Science Fiction Association (SFA), joining in January 1938. He was co-editor of the OMPAzine Now & Then in the 1950s. He wrote comic sketches and humorous poetry, including inventing Widowers.

After joining the SFA, Needham was an occasional visitor to its Leeds branch until the creation of the Manchester branch.

He was on the concom of SuperManCon in 1954. He gafiated in the late 1950s, but was coaxed back into contributing to Erg and a few other fanzines beginning in 1977.
