(September 23, 1943 – )

Tomas Cronholm is an anomaly in Swedish fandom. He became active at 16, in 1959, and participated in early club activities, then largely disappeared from fandom for almost 40 years while gaining his doctorate in medicine and working as a researcher at the Karolinska Institutet research hospital in Stockholm.

Simultaneously with becoming a tenured professor, he started his first fanzine, BEM, in 1999, and since then has been a driving force in Stockholm fandom: he has taken over Lars-Olov Strandberg's role as a constant convention committee member, was for several years the editor of Sweden's last paper fanzine, SF Forum, has chaired the Alvar Appeltofft Memorial Foundation and is among the most active, well liked and dedicated fans in the country.
