Edwin Frederick De La Roi was a Nebraska fanartist recommended to faneds in MFS Bulletin 19 (February 15, 1943, p. 3).
Walt Dunkelberger was the first to report to fandom, in Fanewscard 67 (September 22, 1944), that U.S. Coast Guard Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class De La Roi's ship, the USCGC Jackson, had sunk in a hurricane, and he with it.
