(April 30, 1920 – June 13, 2010)

Everett Franklin Bleiler was a major scholar of SF. He was nominated for the 1992 Best Non-Fiction Book Hugo for Science Fiction: The Early Years and 1999 Best Related Book Hugo for Science Fiction: The Gernsback Years, was a leading bibliographer of the field.

He also wrote The Checklist of Fantastic Literature, published by Shasta in 1948, and massive The Guide to Supernatural Fiction, and is credited with co-editing, with T. E. Dikty, the first year's best anthology series. He was one of the judges of the International Fantasy Award.

Bleiler's son, Richard Bleiler, is also a science fiction historian and assisted his father on several of his works.
