The Medway Science and Fantasy Club (originally announced as the Medway Science Fiction Fan Club) was a club formed in August 1952 in Gillingham, Kent, UK by Jeanne Thorne and Tony Thorne, the latter the proprietor of the Medway Science & Fantasy Centre bookshop. An initial meeting in the Thorne home agreed a membership fee of 2/6 plus a weekly contribution of 3d. It also set a minimum age of 18 ' in view of the technicalities of the subjects for discussion and also due to the limited space available'[1] although a junior section was proposed. By October 1953 there were about 20 members.

Their clubzine was The Medway Journal and in November 1953 they ran the Medcon. The club lasted until about 1960.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
