Wilmot, Wisconsin, is roughly halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee. It is the site of the Wilmot Mountain ski slope and lodge, formerly owned and operated by Jon and Joni Stopa and their family, where they lived and hosted Wilcon for many years.

The Wilmot Mountain lodge features in a scene in the faan fiction video Faans.

Jon’s father, Walter Stopa, founded the ski resort, dubbed the "Matterhorn of the Midwest," in 1938, and Jon grew up there. The family sold the ski facility to Vail Resorts in 2016, but Jon’s house on the property wasn’t included and he still lives there.
