A bid to host the 1971 Worldcon in Washington, DC. It was run by Jay Haldeman and Bob Pavlat. Joe Haldeman, then serving in Vietnam, was their most distant supporter and had a photograph taken of him holding a "DC in '71" sign.

A Baltimore in 71 bid was mooted in late 1968, but does not seem to have jelled. The committee, according to one flyer, was Jack Chalker, Ed Krieg, Mike Hakulin, Pat Kelly, Don & Debbie Sobwick, Kim Weston, Steve Naron, Paul Price, and Rick Shanklin.

In voting at St. Louiscon, it lost to Boston in 71. See 1971 Worldcon Site Selection.
