Kevin J. Maroney, a longtime fan, is managing editor of The New York Review of Science Fiction, for which he has received 14 nominations for the Best Semiprozine Hugo: 1997-2009, 2012.

He has stated: "I started reading SF because of peer pressure: Both my father and my older brother were heavy SF readers, so the stuff was all around the house when I was growing up."

He lives in Valentine's Castle, a house in Yonkers, New York, with his spouses, Bernadette Bosky and Arthur Hlavaty.
