DeepSouthCon 34 was a convention held April 26-28, 1996 in conjunction with Beachcon on Jekyll Island, GA . There were 237 members. Bill Francis was chairman. Harry Turtledove was GoH, Peggy Ranson was Artist GoH, Joe Siclari & Edie Stern were Fan GoHs. Jack C. Haldeman was Toastmaster and Barbara Delaplace was "Spousal Guest".

Gary & Corlis Robe won the Rebel Award and Jack C. Haldeman II won the Phoenix Award. The Rubble Award went to Naomi Fisher "for crimes against the waistlines of fandom."
