DeepSouthCon 47 was held June 5-7, 2009 in conjunction with Hypericon 5 in Nashville, TN. Attendance was about 300 and the chairman was Fred Grimm. Brian Keene was Author GoH, Steven Gilberts was Artist GoH, and Bob Embler Fan GoH. Kathy Mar was Special Filk Guest and Glen Cook and Jonathan Maberry were Special Author Guests.
Randy Cleary won the Rebel Award and Robert McCammon won the Phoenix Award. The Rubble Award went to the Chattacon Registration Department "for consecutive years of hours-long registration lines."
