Clive Jackson was a UK fan and pro active in the 1950s. He published a number of short stories in Slant and Phantasmagoria, one of which, 'The Swordsmen of Varnis' from Slant #3 (as by Geoffrey Cobbe, Spring 1950), was later reprinted in Other Worlds and elsewhere. Jackson also sold stories to New Worlds and Science Fiction Adventures.

He spent some time in Singapore in the early 1950s, returning to the Whitstable area of Kent around 1953 and joining the Medway Science and Fantasy Club.
